And We Have Germination
The lettuce seeds I planted on Saturday burst through the soil today, eager to grow and give me green in a sea of white. Hurray! No sign of the leeks yet, but they aren't so quick. Next: herbs and peppers.
For 32 years my husband and I ran a small retail garden center in Ohio. We keep a flock of chickens for eggs, and we make our own wine from kits and from fruit that grows on our 8 acres. In the spring, summer and fall you'll find me outside in my gardens, and in the winter I'll be inside, cooking, baking, working on my scrapbooks or reading.
